I began as a shopping centre marketing director in the early 80’s. Since then, I have leased space for many commercial landlords, always improving the retail mix and focussing on increasing the value of the real estate asset. Working for Blockbuster video was the best education in retail site selection, I ever had. So, I understand both sides of the lease, what the landlord wants and what the tenant wants. Gerry Lazar has been a retail leasing specialist since the early 1990’s. He started at Enterprise Property Group, leasing “challenged” commercial properties, where he achieved a 96% success rate and was awarded the “John Topping Award” of achievement in 1997. He helped develop the large box format, 25,000 to 45,000 SF for Your Dollar Store With More, bringing them to locations in Brampton, Mississauga, Scarborough, Ontario and beyond. For more than 10 years, Gerry has worked with Kelly Laughton for Nations Fresh Foods, multi-ethnic grocery & entertainment in up to 150,000 square feet. Nations now have 9 locations in the greater Toronto and Hamilton areas. Gerry’s specialty is growing retail brands such as fresh restaurant concepts, medical centres and other retail uses. Jody has over 10 years of experience in administrative roles with a background in real estate sales. Jody is extremely organized and a proficient multitasker which comes in handy in such a fast-paced environment. As a Licensed Assistant with Top Cats Commercial, Jody skillfully manages a broad range of administrative and marketing duties and is excited to bring her enthusiasm and experience to Top Cats Commercial and its clients.
