New, BizBuzz Ethnic Restaurants & Talented Global Chefs; exciting not only to Customers but also to Landlords

We at Top Cats Realty are pleased to work with a large and diverse group of global ethnic restauranteurs. “Ethnic”, however is not an ideal way to describe many of these concepts. You can expect flavourful, contemporary menus, prepared by international chefs, with proven success from around the world.

Kailash Parbat

Firstly, some are international and are already operating in multiple countries throughout the world. One such concept is “Kailash Parbat”. Its Canadian locations were launched by a group from Singapore which operates restaurants throughout the Middle East, Europe and the USA. Kailash Parbat has enjoyed the patronage of at least four generations of loyal patrons who swear by the delightful flavours and rich aromas of this authentic Sindhi cuisine. The consistency of “melt in the mouth” tastes have emerged as the signature of Kailash Parbat. Kailash Parbat is the only restaurant known to serve authentic Sindhi cuisine such as Bhugal Bhee, Aloo, and Koki.

The traditional Punjabi cuisine is a success with both the Indian and non-Indian community.

It is vegetarian, Indian cuisine, and uses high grade, one hundred percent vegetable oil. Vegetarian cuisine is on the rise not only in Canada, but also, around the world. It is proving to be extremely popular.

Rajdhani Sweets

Another successful vegetarian Indian concept we work with is called Rajdhani Sweets, and as their name suggests, they are known for their massive assortment of Indian Sweets. Ashwani Saihgpaul, the founder of Rajdhani Sweets was raised in Punjab, India and mastered the craft of creating traditional Indian cuisine and hospitality. He opened his first Rajdhani Sweets in Toronto, Canada in 2002 at Albion and Islington. The authentic flavours became a favorite destination for all who love Indian cuisine.  Since then, Rajdhani Sweets has expanded and continues to grow, in various sizes, including food courts and a successful buffet location in Brampton.

The Rajdhani Sweets group is rapidly expanding in the province of Ontario, Canada, with 14 restaurants operating now and more are on the way.

Everest Tandoori Kitchen

Everest Tandoori, with 3 locations is looking to expand throughout Southern Ontario. They serve North Indian recipes, Hakka fusion and traditional Nepalese cooking. They use organic Himalayan spices and herbs in traditional recipes, directly from the chef’s mother’s kitchen.

Indian Sweet Master

Not far behind is Indian Sweet Master, a non-vegetarian taste delight.
Indian Sweet Master is also expanding rapidly and offers a diverse menu that includes many Indian veggie and meat dishes. www.indiansweetmaster.ca

Hakka Nation

New to the scene is Hakka Nation, which offers an extraordinary blend of spicy Chinese and Indian cuisines.

Why these food concepts stand out, is the quality and variety of the restaurants. You could travel the world every night, experiencing different and exciting food concepts, without leaving your city or even your home.

Other players to watch for include Biryani Villa, and Biryani Hub which cater to a younger demographic with their mixture of Indian street food and fusion menus.

All of these concepts have younger, more contemporary chefs creating the menus, and making it truly exciting food to experience. These so-called ethnic concepts will come to dominate the restaurant market soon, as the demand continues to grow.

Top Cats Commercial Realty is at the head of this new wave or curve as we like to say. It’s a paradigm shift as the traditional retail environment is evolving and you will see more of these exciting concepts in the days, months and years ahead. Stay tuned.

From Brick And Mortar To Click And Order

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the face of shopping, increasing the demand for eCommerce experiences. McKinsey & Company research shows that to keep up, businesses are quickly moving to online channels, accelerating the digitization timetable by as much as seven years.

Yet moving a brick-and-mortar business online isn’t simple. It requires strategic planning, analysis of your customers’ needs, and a long-term vision for your brand. From optimizing your website to fine-tuning your marketing goals, business owners need a holistic plan to jump into eCommerce.

Assess What Customers Need

According to the PwC Global Consumer Insights Survey, safety is top of mind for 49% of urban consumers. The same survey shows that 86% of consumers are likely to continue shopping online even after pandemic restrictions lift.

Consumers are prioritizing both health and convenience. To remain competitive, more businesses are offering services like click and collect and curbside pickup. In fact, by August 2020, 70% sellers were offering contactless payments and 40% were accepting online payments. A survey shows that:

  • 85% of shoppers have increased curbside pickup.
  • 79% of shoppers say contactless pickup is important.
  • 80% of shoppers expect to use contactless and curbside pickup more in the next six months.

A smart move for business owners is to repurpose part of your premises to make it easier to facilitate these new services. On-demand delivery is popular with 90% of shoppers. Thankfully, there are solutions for expanding your delivery and pickup options.

International Food Concepts are Expanding Rapidly in Ontario

You might have noticed the proliferation of ethnic themed restaurants growing in number throughout Ontario. Indian style restaurants, where only 10 years ago were an older traditional style of white table cloth, buffet style has now caught up with the times.

Indian style cuisine now comes in many formats from a Biryani style kitchen (Biryani is a traditional rice dish mixed with spices with or without chicken, vegetarian Indian concepts , Indian street food such as Pani Puri, a mixture of potatoes, chickpeas, curry and spices which can vary depending on the province in India of origin, tandoori style, baked in a tandori oven  which is popular in Canada and there are many more.
